  • Business website & social profiles — linked from your listing if provided
  • Service descriptions — the types of plumbing work you offer
  • Payment information — processed securely through Stripe; we do not store card numbers

Information We Collect Automatically

When you visit plumberarchive.com, we automatically collect certain technical and usage data:

  • IP address and approximate geographic location
  • Browser type, operating system, and device type
  • Pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs
  • Search queries entered on the site (city, state searches)
  • Cookie identifiers — see Section 4 for details

Information from Third Parties

We may receive limited information from third-party sources such as public business registries, state contractor licensing databases, and review aggregators to verify or supplement plumber listings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Directory listings — to create and display your plumbing business profile on plumberarchive.com so homeowners can find you
  • Account management — to manage your subscription, send billing receipts, and handle account-related communications
  • Customer support — to respond to your enquiries and resolve issues

  • Communications — to send service updates, renewal reminders, and occasionally product news (you may opt out at any time)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

PlumberArchive uses the following third-party services that may process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

Stripe — Payment Processing

All subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you subscribe, you enter payment details directly into Stripe's secure form. PlumberArchive never sees or stores your credit card number. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

Google Analytics — Site Analytics

We use Google Analytics (Google LLC) to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data via cookies. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Formspree — Contact Forms

Our contact forms are powered by Formspree. When you submit a contact form, your name, email address, and message are transmitted to Formspree's servers and forwarded to us by email. Formspree's privacy policy is available at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.

4. Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. PlumberArchive uses the following types of cookies:

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website to function correctly — for example, to remember your search preferences during a session. They cannot be disabled without affecting site functionality.

Analytics Cookies

We use Google Analytics cookies (e.g. _ga, _gid) to collect anonymised data about how visitors use the site — pages viewed, session duration, and traffic sources. This helps us improve the site. These cookies do not identify you personally.

Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. Note that disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use PlumberArchive. For opt-out options, visit optout.aboutads.info or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.

5. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — trusted third-party processors (Stripe, Google, Formspree) who process data on our behalf under appropriate data protection agreements
  • Legal obligations — if required by law, court order, or governmental authority
  • Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may transfer to the successor entity, who will be bound by this policy
  • Safety — to protect the rights, property, or safety of PlumberArchive, our users, or the public

Directory listing information (business name, phone, address, services) is publicly visible on the site — this is the core purpose of the service and the reason you provide it.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you cancel your subscription and request deletion of your data, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it (e.g. financial records for tax purposes, which we retain for 7 years).

Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be used to identify you.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected
  • Deletion — request that your data be erased, subject to legal retention obligations
  • Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Opt-out of marketing — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email we send
  • Objection — object to processing of your data for direct marketing purposes

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at seid@plumberarchive.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously. PlumberArchive uses industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, secure third-party payment processing via Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant), and restricted access to personal data on a need-to-know basis.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

9. Children's Privacy

PlumberArchive is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify registered users by email.

Your continued use of PlumberArchive after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
